Hi, consider this a quick test blog, but we are up and running as a completely new entity, and hope you recreate your login and begin blogging again.
Our videos are all on our own Vimeo channel now, and our journals are almost up to date. Taboo: The Journal of Culture and Education has a new issue up, we have new senior editors, Jon Austin and Renee Baynes both from The University of Southern Queensland. Sprinkle: An Undergraduate Journal of Feminist and Queer Studies is up with a new issue….JACE will be up with its second issue in a couple of weeks, and IJCP (hosted at UNC Greensboro) is just mounting a new issue on Paulo Freire.
So much to tell you, but as this is a test blog, just cruise the site and join as a blogger to post, connect and share your research and thoughts.
We are looking for a key publisher to sponsor us, so just have a few publisher websites up now, when we can confirm some major financial backing, we can upgrade that publisher’s pages for interactive communication. At this time, we have Caddogap Press as a permanent sponsor due to their contribution of set-up and typesetting for Taboo: The Journal of Culture and Education.
What else? Please let Giuliana and I know what we can can do to improve the site. As you see the mandate is different, this is a site for social scientists and community/youth workers and participants. It is a private site hosted by Giuliana and I, and as such, does not have a board.
We have a section under Resources-INTERNATIONAL CENTRES. Please send me an email with your website address and a short description of your centre, and we will add it to that section.
Also in the same section-IN THE CLASSROOM, is dedicated to pedagogical and community pedagogy practitioners to share their critical work.
The Activism section is created for you to add work displaying a social commitment to change. Please share with us.
The Members section will eventually profile the active participants for this site.
Again, welcome, and please participate.
