Teaching and Reading Henry Giroux PowerPoint

The text for Reading and Teaching Henry Giroux came after our long-term use of Henry’s most significant material. After the book was published we had key insights and concepts from this work in an organized fashion and therefore it was a helpful tool in our classes and discussions with students. The impetus for developing this PowerPoint presentation came with the need to have various quotations and references in a ready-made package. This is where Samir Muhaisen came to the rescue.

As you can see from the title page Samir is a graduate student in the Faculty of Education at Memorial University of Newfoundland. It is Samir’s skill and insight into Reading and Teaching Henry Giroux that allows us to share this extensive teaching tool with you. As you explore the PowerPoint presentation you will notice you are able to navigate from the Table of Contents to a given heading and back to the Table of Contents. This allows for a myriad of hyperlinks among headings, concepts, and charts. We find this an invaluable feature in instructional preparation and presentation, as well as sharing readings. Thanks, Samir.

We wish to share this resource with you through The Freire Project. We are grateful for Shirley’s continued friendship and for supporting this bit of public pedagogy. We depend on David’s mastery to make it all work. Thanks.

Henry’s work remains a powerful influence on our educational and cultural efforts. We share the Reading and Teaching Henry Giroux: The PowerPoint in fond memory of Joe Kincheloe, who still puts a smile on our faces and a thought in our heads each and every day.
